| | annoyed | ] | Okay, I know I haven't posted in a while, but I just had to say WTF to Spiderman 3. Since when do superheroes/villans CRY ALL THE TIME? Fucking Emo Peter Parker. They also tried to fit way too much shit into that movie and didn't care about any kind of flow. AND WHAT THE HELL? How could he kiss that girl like that? In front of his girlfriend?! Fucking asshole.
Go see Hot Fuzz instead, and if you must see this, rent it when it comes out on DVD. |

Oldman Axed from Harry Potter Film?
Actor Gary Oldman looks unlikely to reprise his role as Sirius Black in the next Harry Potter offering, after reports he has been mysteriously axed from the wizard franchise. Oldman, who has appeared in the last two movies adapted from JK Rowling's popular children's books, has yet to be signed for a third term - even though filming for Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix has already begun. The actor's manager, Douglas Urbanski, tells British newspaper The Sun, "You will be shocked to learn there are no plans for Gary to appear in the film. To say we are puzzled is an understatement at the very least! We are left with no choice but to pursue other employment for him." Vanessa Davis, spokeswoman for production company Warner Brothers, confirms no deal has been reached, but insists there is still time to resolve the confusion. She says, "With any film the priority is confirming the cast who will be on the set from the outset."

BULLSHIT! If he's not Sirius, I'll be pissed. If there is no Sirius in the movie at all, I won't see it. |

Brian got in a debate with his dad about something, so he checked it out on Wikipedia. It turned out his dad was right, but Brian edited the page then printed it up to show his dad was wrong. It was very funny. |

Fuck.
So there you have it.
Hopefully I can finish this one essay, study some more tomorrow for my final at 12:45, do some of my other essay between 5 and 7, then do the rest after the Keith Urban concert at 8, then get the studying done by 10:15am for the Friday final.
Weeeeeee!
Fuck my stupid computer for being powerless until today, leaving me unable to do most of this ahead of time. |

| Idlewild |
[Dec. 14th, 2005|05:11 pm] |
How cool am I? So cool, that I got to see a test screening of Idlewild, the "Outkast" movie starring Andre 3000 and Big Boi. It probably won't come out until March. I know, you wish you were me.
Anywho, it's pretty cool. It wasn't fully edited yet, so sometimes the sound was a bit off, and they'll probably edit down the intro some, but it was pretty good. You definitely have to suspend disbelief for it though. I mean, Outkast songs being sung in the 1930s? Raps that mention CDs just don't seem to fit. But it was entertaining, in spite of a very cliche part. It's funny, happy, and sad all at once. I reccommend it. |

| | It's peanut butter jelly time! (in my head) | ] | My folklore class is so boring, and it has so much potential. I really like my teacher as a person, but the class is rather disorganized and doesn't give much info other than from the books.
Only one more day of instruction though after this. (I'm in class right now - once again I sing the praises of a Wireless campus.)
I hate finals. I have so much work to do in the next few days - 2 essays, 1 homework assignment, lots of reading, about 50 small drawings and a final big drawing. I will be so glad to be out of that bullshit art class. I hate that our teacher thinks we all want to be artists (its a beginner's GE class, dammit!) and that we have no other classes to do work for. Damn school! At least I only have 3 more semesters!!! I am officially a senior next semester and I only have 12 classes more. 5 next semester and 7 to spread out over a year. There is an end in sight!
Now what the fuck do I do when I get out? |

Outcast Genius 65 % Nerd, 78% Geek, 52% Dork |
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Congratulations!

Thanks Again! -- THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST |
|
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 71% on nerdiness |
|
You scored higher than 97% on geekosity |
|
You scored higher than 87% on dork points |

Thank you for your time. |

| [ | mood |
| | sleepy | ] | No, I did not drop off the face of the Earth. (completely.) I've just been very busy the past 3 weeks.
First, I moved. Not far, just a few blocks away really. But for only $25 more a month, I am getting a bigger place, with a balcony, and a kitchen twice as big as my old one. I am psyched. Moving sucked though, because I had so little time to pack since I was working every day at that point. I was doing that because I was going away for the next 2 weeks.
The Monday after the move weekend, Brian and I headed down to L.A. We saw the King Tut exhibit at the LACMA, and the La Brea Tar Pits. I thought they were bigger. The exhibit was awesome, though. The artifacts were in such good condition. I can only imagine how amazing it must feel to be the one to discover something like that. Then we went to Universal Studios, which has changed a lot since I was last there (when I was 9.) It was a lot of fun. We stayed till Thursday, when we drove up to Santa Maria.
We were originally going to stop by Santa Maria on our way home just to say hi to his family, but shortly before we left Brian's Grandad passed away. So it was a pretty somber visit. We stayed there until Sunday. It was nice to spend time with his family again, but unfortunate because of the circumstances. The service was very nice though, and we got to read a little bit of a mini autobiography he wrote. I wish I could have known him better; he seemed like one of those people who just made your life better just by knowing him.
Anyway, we stopped by my parent's place in the Bay to say hi because it was my "little" sister's birthday. I can't believe she is a Senior in High School! Then we went back to Sacramento to sleep.
The next day we headed out to go camping at Redwoods State Park. This is waaaay up north in Cali, only about 25 miles from the Oregon border. I got a speeding ticked - my first ever. I don't know how much it was for yet, but the cop claimed I was going 91 - I wasn't. But I couldn't find my insurance card so I got dinged for that too. We finally got up there around 10pm, so instead of camping we stayed at a really nice motel for the night. If you're ever up in Klamath, stay at the Motel Ravenwood. It doesn't look at all impressive on the outside, but it was very elegantly decorated inside. So the next morning we went and got a campsite on the beach at Gold Bluffs. More about the trip later because I am tired and have brownies to eat.
One last thing though - I got Brian into Harry Potter by playing the first 2 books on CD. MWA HA HA! Soon he will engrossed! |
